Narrative

The idea of presenting internal characteristics, qualities, and feelings outwardly, externally, as opposed to keeping them hidden, internally; hence ‘Exterior Interiors’. Thorough investigation and analysis of a physical interior vessel acts as a metaphor for the reason behind this project – trying to find myself as a designer. Though this investigation process initially translates the qualities of the physical object, the designs produced will also celebrate its non-physical characteristics.  The idea of the collection being defined, and garments related through a vessels’ makeup, visually links the items of the collection in non-obvious ways whilst still following an aesthetic and sharing the same concept. The designs will express the non-obvious themes present in the physical vessel by responding in a way that looks deeper than just the surface colour, shape, or texture. ​​
